In this blog I'm sharing about two '''older people'' Simeon and Anna the prophetess who saw God's promise fulfilled in their old age. This passage of Scripture doesn't get talked about a whole lot; it's mentioned in the gospel of Luke 2;21-38 where this took place after the visit of the shepherds and angels. (This took place also before the Magi came mentioned in Matthew 2 that's for another blog.) Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus were brought to the temple and offered pigeons as an offering and dedicated, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as a baby and were circumcised. As they were going about doing those things, they met Simeon the prophet who had been waiting his entire lifetime to see Christ. The Spirit of God told him he would not die until he saw the Messiah and he said ''my eyes have seen your salvation''. Then Anna the prophetess who was just around the corner heard what was going on and she departed not from the temple fasting and offering prayers to the Lord. And mark this, she was a widow very similar to Tabitha or Dorcas. I mentioned her in the previous blog. Anyway, Anna pressed into the presence of God until she saw the breakthrough and what breakthrough was she looking for? Like her friend Simeon who was also old, she was anticipating seeing Christ and she saw baby Jesus in the temple and gave thanks to God and told all He was the Promised One! The beautiful thing about this blog I'm sharing with y'all is as I mentioned in a blog about Elizabeth and Zechariah, one is never ''too old'' to believe for the promises of God or too young. I want to encourage you during this Christmas season and even in daily life if you're believing God for salvation of a loved one, financial breakthrough, for a mate or whatever it is you've been believing God for and it's been taking longer than you thought remember Anna the prophetess and her friend Simeon who waited their entire lives to meet baby Jesus and met Him just in time! The old saint used to say. ''God is never early or late. And God always shows up on time.'' That's what I wanted to share with y'all. Blessings, Merry Christmas, and have a blessed week in the Lord!
