Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. As y'all know it's the month of March no longer February. February was ''Black History Month'' and I learned this past year that March is ''Women's History Month!'' Wow! Celebrations just keep going on! Well my first blog for ''Women's History Month'' is none other than legendary missionary and author Amy Carmichael! She was born in 1867 and died in 1951 in her early eighties! But get this she wasn't born in America she was born in Ireland! She was born to parents David who worked as a mill and his wife Catherine. Both her parents were Christians and she was raised in a Christian home and gave her life to Christ at a young age. After her father died and went to heaven when she was eighteen, the Carmichael's founded a church where she served for several years. Eventually after hearing about HUdson Taylor's story, she was inspired to be a missionary first in China which she did for a while. But due to health issues, she returned back to her home country. In the 1900s, God put a call on her heart to be a missionary in India and she would remain a missionary there until the day she died. When she was there her mission was to welcome girls and women in India that were ''forced prostitution'' similar to what human trafficking is today. She founded several different organizations while there such as ''Dohnavur Fellowship'' and founded a hospital with the same name. Dohnavur Fellowship has served over 130 girls, and would eventually add a shelter for young boys who were forced prostitutes. She also founded ''Sisters Of The Common Life'' as well. She also wrote many books such as ''From Fight'' (1901) ''MIssions Work In South India'' (1905) ''Beginning Of A Story'' (1908) and her last book ''This One Thing'' in 1950. She wrote more books than this but these are just a few that I wanted to mention. Another important thing I want to share about AMy Carmichael is that she never married nor did she ever have children. She was a ''kingdom single'' which was very uncommon back then for a woman to have never married but she had ''spiritual children'' rescuing kids from forced prostitution and bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to them as well as to others and she was devoted to God. I believe this should be encouragement to those of us who are single or divorced that we can draw closer to the Lord and still mentor young people. Even the APostle Paul in the Bible says in 1 Corinthians 7 about the benefits of being single and how the virgin is concerned about the things of the Lord and AMy fits the bill perfectly! This also should be encouragement to missionaries too. There you have it, my first blog for ''Women's History Month'' and I'll be sharing more blogs to come.. Blessings, happy Lord's day, have a blessed week, and ''Happy Women's History Month'' everyone!
