Why We Pray: The Story Behind My Prayer Meetings
This is a subtitle for your new post

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. The title I have for this blog is to reveal "The Purpose Of My Prayer Meetings". For those of you who may or may not know I've been hosting prayer meetings over the past three years consistently most Tuesday nights. (Occasionally I host them on Monday nights if there's a conflict on Tuesdays.) What's the reason for that? Well number one I'm unable to attend my churches prayer meetings on Thursday nights because I have another commitment going on and I always felt guilty missing that prayer meeting. That's the first reason. The second reason is the Lord led me to and I wanted a prayer meeting that was consistent with my schedule and I didn't want to wait for permission to start one. How many of y'all know when the Lord leads you to do something you do it whether it fully makes sense or not. We all know that God desires us to pray more and that's the second reason why I did it. The third reason is that it takes a lot to host a meeting in person and doing it virtually. I also wanted to do it virtually for those who may not be able to drive or may not feel comfortable in a "traditional church setting" that they can join me in prayer in the comfort of their homes! I also know that people live in different locations and for some it maybe far away for them is the reason why I do my meetings virtual. The fourth reason for the prayer meeting is because unfortunately prayer isn't as much of priority in many churches the way it should be. The Bible says in Luke 18:1-8 that Jesus taught about a parable of "The Persistent Widow" to teach a principle of being consistent in prayer even if there seems to be delay! The fifth reason why I host prayer meetings is because there's lots of needs that need to be covered in prayer and most of all prayer is the key to revival! Did y'all catch that? Prayer is the key to revival and that's something that my godfather always used to say. That explains why we may not see as many moves of God the way we desire is because of a lack of prayer. And not just a lack of prayer but a lack of seeking the Lord. I saw that as a big problem and the truth is on my own personal prayer life I do pray for revival and have been praying for that for the past fourteen or fifteen years! (I've been a Christian since 2005 and got baptized in the Holy Spirit in 2012 just to give y'all some context about my life.) I've been praying for revival for our nation before I even received the baptism in the Holy Ghost if y'all can believe that! When I was in my junior and senior year of high school I was homeschooled (I was homeschooled from preschool through high school and so was my sister) and through Abeka curriculum (A Christian curriculum hosted in Pensacola, Florida) I learned about the "Great Awakenings" in American history! Ever since that time, I've been praying for revival for our country from that moment on! Not only do I pray for revival for America as a whole, I pray for revival for our city in Milwaukee, our churches, and for the state of Wisconsin. I don't recall there being a "massive revival" in Wisconsin but I won't stop praying in my personal life and the prayer meeting I host until we see change break out! The other reason why I do prayer meetings is because there's a ton of spiritual warfare going on and prayer is one of many weapons to win spiritual warfare. The last reason why I host prayer meetings is to bring unity among the body of Christ. The unfortunate truth is there's a bunch of division in the body of Christ and one thing I know to be true is one thing that hinders God from moving is division. Think about what happened in the upperoom in the book of Acts the Bible says that the 120 were in one accord and that's challenging to do these days. But the thing with prayer is that prayer helps bring unity and could that be why the devil tries to stop us from praying individually or corporate prayer because prayer can bring unity? My goal is to bring unity from different denominations and pull a body of Christian women together and focus on the big picture! Even Jesus prayed in John 17:21 that we in the body would be one meaning "one accord" as He and the Father are one accord! Our Lord and Savior prayed that prayer before He died on the cross and rose again and that answer to that prayer is yet to be realized! I'm in agreement with our Master and I do pray that meetings like this can hopefully ignite more churches to do prayer meetings. I'm sure many of y'all knew why I did these meetings but for those who are newer I felt I needed to explain why. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to each of you ladies, hope to see y'all at my next prayer meeting, and have a blessed week everyone.
