Natural and Spiritual Lessons To Learn During The Winter Season

HI ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day. I hope and pray that each of y'all and your families are doing well. I feel the Lord is having me shift gears on topics now and the title for the blog is called ''Natural and Spiritual Lessons To Learn During The WInter Season''. I live in Wisconsin and many of you live here today (others may live in a different state or country that gets snow too!) and I believe this can help us keep things in perspective since we have another one or two for winter to endure. Number one the winter season can be an adverse season but we'll make it through it. In the ''natural winter season'' it often snows here in Wisconsin we get inches while other states like Alaska, New York, Minnesota just to name a few can get several feet of snow! In Wisconsin it also can get bitter cold like it did Dr King Jr week (January 14th all the way to my birthday January 21st) In the ''spiritual winter'' of the Christian life adversity is a way of life. In fact Jesus said in John 16;33 ''In this world you'll have trouble but take heart I have overcome the world''. How important it is to remember that in the natural and spiritual winter of our lives. Also natural and spiritual winter seasons of our lives help us to endure and have survival skills. That means in the natural winter, you have to dress ''appropriately;y'' for the weather, making sure your house and car have heat, making sure the snow is shoveled, that you wear hats, gloves, coats, and boats. If it's bitter cold (the teens and below) wearing extra layers. In the ''spiritual winter'' it's important for us to have survival skills as well too. The Bible says in Romans 8;37 says ''In Him we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us'' and Psalm 34;19 ''Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the Lord shall deliver them from them all.'' Winter season teaches how to endure and press on in the hard times of life. The winter season also gives us a time of rest both naturally and spiritually. We live in a ''go go go'' society where resting is hardly encouraged. Burnout is a real thing and that can happen to us if we're not careful. Learning to rest physically and spiritually is important and the winter seasons both naturally and spiritually is important. The ten commandments say keep the sabbath day holy, that's a command to take a day off to rest. And the last thing about winter is it prepares us for the next season. We know Spring happens after winter both naturally and spiritually. Spring is a time for new life and a time of renewal after an adverse time. That's what I wanted to share with y'all and hope and pray that this blog will encourage y'all especially since the natural winter season isn't over yet and if you're in a ''spiritual winter'' I pray it encourages you to press into God and community, stand on God's promises, and learning to rest during this time. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and have a nice week everyone.
