How Inside Out Changed Me

Sommer Kelly • July 25, 2024

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'll do one more blog about the movie "Inside Out" and it's called how "Inside Out Changed Me". Listen everyone has the same emotions whether you're a minor, an adult, man, woman, single, married, divorcee, widow, remarried, rich, poor, old, young, regardless of race, or whether you live for God or not. That's the bottom line. The question is what do we do with them? It's proven fact that women and kids express their emotions quicker than men do usually most of the time anyway. This maybe a surprising thing but it's challenging for me to express my emotions. I had a hard time with that growing up and I'm dealing with the consequences as an adult and dealing with complications. It has affected my relationship with the Lord, others, my mental health, and aspects of life due to not knowing how to express my emotions. As I seek to grow in my relationship with the Lord, therapy, and watching this movie really brought clarity about certain things. So when I say this movie isn't just for "little kids" is the truth. I believe it's important for us adults to help kids (whether we're their parents or aunts, uncles or a a child looks up to) to help them express their emotions in a healthy way and a way that honors God so they can be healthy adults. If you're an adult like me whether my age or older or younger and if you had a hard time dealing with emotions as a kid well if you don't know Christ come to Him and if you already know Him talk to Him about it. Don't be afraid to get help as well too. We all will deal with fear, disgust, anger, sadness, and joy. As I said in a previous blog God gets happy, sad, and angry too. God gets angry over injustice, blood shed, and being treated irreverently. God gets grieved over the things that hurt us or when we ignore Him. God gets happy when we help others, spend time with Him, the lost getting saved, when people get along, and when we prosper. God gets disgusted over sin and what the devil does. We are made in the image of God. I had a "emotional spell" and God reminded me to be honest with Him and brought the movie back to my remembrance. Adults encourage your kids to express emotions in a healthy way and it's never too late as adults to be aware of our emotions and pray that we don't hurt others with our emotions. If we do fear, get sad, or angry to talk to God, trusted friends, or go to counseling if need be. After all we want to be emotionally healthy and honor God don't we? I know that I certainly do. Also if you haven't gotten my book "Strength For Enduring Adversity" you can get it on Amazon as well too. Blessings, have a great day, and a great week in the Lord.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called ''My Latest New Life Women's Event''. For those of you that may or may not know I've been attending ''New Life Assembly Of God Church'' since Covid and have been a member there for the past five years. We've been hosting many women's events since February this year and we meet every two months. Now I wasn't the one that hosted it but I got to participate in it though and by God's grace, I've gone to every last one of those meetings! The food was free and I got to eat some fruit, some chips, and ate some good old fashioned fried chicken! I know, right? The speaker was a lady from our church, a ''matured lady'' if I can put it like that. She shared a topic that's near and dear to my heart about ''Healing From PTSD''. That's something ladies that many of you know doesn't get addressed enough in the Church as a whole like it should and I'm sure that many of you know that. She talked about how it impacts childhood, present, our future, current relationships, and even to the point of our walk with the Lord. Ladies I know that hearing that touched my heart deeply as it did the hearts of many other women. It left room for discussions and I know that after that meeting, the Holy Spirit and I had some deep conversations about that. As many of you ladies know, I've always been transparent about mental health almost throughout the year and why it matters. Another thing the speaker said and maybe some of you can relate to this, sadly in the Church as a whole Christians alot of times ''spiritualize trauma'' and that absolutely drove me and the speaker crazy! To be brutally honest ladies I believe that's what my upbringing was like despite the fact I grew up in a Christian home and despite the fact I got saved at eleven years old! I'm not badmouthing my upbringing but one big problem was mental health much less trauma was not talked about in the house. To make matters worse, encouraging to get help outside of one's parents or pastors was completely not acceptable either! Another painful reality about my upbringing too was it was encouraged to use ''religious words'' instead of addressing the deep wound. It also creates shame causing me to feel guilty for being sad, angry, and traumatized which also delayed healing! (Side note that could be why I've had some additional challenges because of the reasons that I just mentioned! But I'm happy as an adult that the Lord is continuing to help me heal and giving me practical tools to heal from my past trauma which is on an ongoing basis!) Do you ladies see why that session on Saturday August 15th meant so much to me and why it matters so much to me in my meetings especially my virtual Bible studies? (We also cover it in prayer on Tuesday nights or occasionally Monday nights depending when we meet. We pray for both the physically and mentally ill too.) The speaker did encourage the ladies to not be afraid to get practical help in addition to spiritual help. Ladies, that was music to my ears! I'm going to encourage you ladies with this, don't be afraid to get practical help if you need it! Ladies that's something that I do quite a bit! I go see a Christian counselor maybe not every week but quite a few times during the month! I tell her when I'm not okay while keeping the Lord in the center of everything! Ladies this past week when it was time to pray for those who lost loved ones, it fell on me to pray for them. One thing that I prayed for was besides them not getting bitter towards the Lord but I prayed at the virtual prayer meeting for them to get help through grief counseling if they need it! I know, right? Another thing about trauma is it impacts the emotions, the mind, and even to the point it can impact one's physical health! Ladies, I know that from experience! Any of you who have been around me long enough know some of the things I went through and how traumatizing life has been to me and how I've had to lean on the Lord. Ladies again let me emphasize if you're dealing with this, don't hesitate to reach out to your pastors or hesitate to reach out to a Christian counselor to help you through life! As a matter of fact, the very next day I shared with my new pastor Pastor Bowen just me and him after church some stuff I never told my parents about some abuse from my past without naming names! Ladies, perhaps in the future I may reveal more details about it but my pastor did pray with me about it without anyone in the congregation knowing it! I believe it wasn't a coincidence that ''New Life's Women's Event'' took place on Saturday August 15th which is where the Lord continued to do deeper work in me in order to heal. Maybe not at the meeting but certainly afterwards! The truth is none of us can change the past but we can change the future. We can learn to forgive others and ourselves, be honest about the hurt, pray, and talk to trustworthy people (especially a counselor) about it. I want you ladies to know that if you share something personal with me, especially prayer requests I'm extremely confidential with them! I want y'all to know that! I know especially when it comes to prayer requests after virtual Bible study I take it seriously what things you ladies share with me and take it to the Lord immediately. Going through trauma is alot for anyone to endure and I want y'all to know that I understand that firsthand! God is still healing me from trauma past as well as present! There are some things going on presently that I'm not at liberty to talk about right now but I trust that in time I'll reveal some more of what God has brought me out of in the time to come! That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. I don't always talk about what goes on at my local church ''New Life Assembly Of God Church'' but if it's a life impacting event I make sure to share with you ladies so y'all know that I do submit to a pastor even though he might be completely aware of this women's ministry yet! I believe that a woman leader needs to submit to a male covering in order to better fulfill her assignment. (That's for another blog for another time to better explain that!) Also ladies I'll be hosting my third virtual Bible study tonight and hope y'all join me for that. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and hope y'all have a blessed week everyone.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. The title I have for this blog is called ''A Desperate Mother Calls To Jesus''. For those of you ladies that are unfamiliar this account is mentioned in Matthew 15;21-28 and Mark 7;24-30. This woman was a pagan woman and not a Jewish woman with a demon possessed daughter! How many of you ladies know that it's serious for someone to be demon possessed? Of course this was not the first or the last time that our Lord encountered people with demon possession. There was one incident when Christ was preaching in the synagogue and a man was possessed by a devil and Christ cast it out! Another incident where Christ drove out a legion of demons out of a man mentioned in Luke 8 and in Mark 5 and his life was restored. He also cast out seven demons out of Mary Magdalene who became a female disciple and friend of His and drove out an evil spirit out of a teenager mentioned in Matthew 17, Mark 9, and Luke 9. So simply put, this situation wasn't new for Christ at all. (Side note demon possessions isn't always a physical manifestation in a person. Sometimes demonic activity could be happening that can impact a person's mind, personality, entertainment, relationships, or in the media that can influence people to do crazy things! I also believe that demons are behind narcissism and Halloween but that's for another blog for another time.) But there was a problem. Like I said this woman was a pagan and not a Jew. Mark's account mentioned that Christ needed some privacy and looked for a quiet place when this desperate mother found Him! My former pastor from my previous church believed that this woman was at her wits end. Perhaps she tried a mother's love, maybe she tried taking her daughter to the doctor but the doctor couldn't help her. Perhaps she tried her pagan religion but none of that worked. Ever heard the old saying, ''Desperate people do desperate things?'' I believe that pagan mother went to Jesus out of desperation! (I'm sure there are unsaved women going through different challenges in their family, work life, or some other area and it hasn't worked. Perhaps if they call on Jesus, things will turn around for them!) I like to believe that ''desperate people pray desperate prayers''. Now here's where the story gets a bit crazy. Even Jesus' own disciples asked Christ to have her go away! Isn't that wild? This pagan woman is in desperate need and Christ's disciples ask her to go away! But this precious mother refused to give up. Then Christ said something very interesting. He told her ''it's not right to take bread from the children's table and toss it to their dogs.'' Now I know in our modern day what He said sounds confusing but let me explain what He meant. Think about the English royal family. You know that the current king and queen consort of England are King Charles and queen consort Queen Camilla right? Well who's the heir to the throne? Well the crown prince Prince William and his wife princess consort Princess Kate are the next heirs to the throne! You might be thinking. ''What does this have to do with Jesus and this precious desperate mother?'' Would it make sense for King Charles and Queen Camilla of England to take what rightfully belongs to Prince William and Princess Kate and entrust their heir to someone outside of the family? No!!!! Of course not! Also Prince William and Princess Kate also know what rights they have because they are the heirs of the English throne. What Christ was saying is that healing is part of the children's bread and we know that Christ was sent to the house of Israel right? The Jews were the children of God's kingdom at that time. Gentiles at that time didn't have access to the gospel and according to the Jews, gentiles were considered ''dogs'' or outsiders. Let me also be clear about something else. Christ didn't say what He said because He was racist! Let me be crystal clear about that! Christ never has nor never will be racist and it breaks my heart that people who claim to be Christians are racist! (People like that need to repent in Jesus name and I'm unashamed to say that! But that's for another blog for another time). He said what He said because this was before the cross and resurrection of Christ. Prior to those events happening, Gentiles didn't have much access to the gospel as we do today. Christ was telling this woman it wasn't right to take what rightfully belongs to Israel and give it to outsiders. Then this precious mother said. ''I know Lord. But even dogs can eat the crumbs what falls from the children's table.'' For those of us that have dogs we know this to be true. I have a dog so I know! Dogs look for what food they can get right? For example you have a piece of bread and the dog wants it but it knows it probably won't get the whole thing. How many of you ladies notice that if you give a dog a crumb of food they'll eat it? I've seen that happen with my dog time and time again and it works! What this precious woman was saying was ''Lord please give me a crumb of Your blessing despite me being a pagan!'' Wow! What great faith did this woman have! Christ also commended her of her faith and the Bible goes on to say that her daughter was healed and delivered in that very hour. Whew! Ladies, what desperate situation do you find yourself in that you need Jesus to intervene in? You may not have a child or loved one that's demon possessed but you cry out to Jesus to help your loved ones don't you? I know I sure do! Perhaps you have unsaved loved ones that need to be saved or a wayward son or daughter to come back to Christ that you're concerned about. Ladies I have unsaved loved ones that I've been praying for years and asking the Lord to save them. Perhaps a loved one has an addiction and you're concerned that it's gonna take them out especially when it comes to alcohol, drugs, homosexuality, and pornography just to name a few. Maybe you're asking Jesus to deliver your loved ones from those things. Perhaps you have a loved one in prison justly or unjustly (like I do right now though I won't disclose names) and you're praying that God gets their attention. Perhaps if they're there justly for them to get saved, repent to God and victims they hurt and those unjustly there, you're praying for the Lord to bring them out and court to straighten it out! (I'm in that zone right now ladies and prayers for me and this unnamed loved one would greatly be appreciated.) Perhaps you're praying for your spouse because there's friction in the house, maybe adultery, or some other challenges going on in your marriage and you're asking Jesus to intervene. Perhaps a loved one is either physically sick or mentally ill and they desperately need a touch from heaven to make them whole. Perhaps you or a loved one are dealing with financial challenges or vocational transitions that you need Jesus' guidance for that. Either way ladies, I want you to know that Jesus cares about us and cares about those we care about. That's a good reminder right there! This precious pagan mother begged for JEsus' help because she loved her daughter and realized her daughter needed His help! Perhaps that's why you're reading this right now because you're thinking about someone that you care about that desperately needs help and let me say this. Don't give up praying for yourself and don't give up praying for them! I know that when we Christians pray God may not answer us in the way or timing we want but that's still no reason to stop praying! Be like this precious mother who hung in there and pressed into Jesus long enough until she got a breakthrough! That's what I'm determined to do for unsaved loved ones and for a loved one that's unjustly in prison that I won't stop praying until I see change. I won't stop praying until I see change in America and I won't stop praying until I see change in my life too! I pray that this blog reminds you ladies to press into the Lord and surround yourselves with other intercessors until change happens in your life and lives of your loved ones. Id's also encourage you ladies to join me during our virtual prayer meetings so you ladies can pray for yourself, your loved ones, for your community, and nation as well too. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to each of you ladies and pray that you have a blessed week.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and prt each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called ''My Women's training Part 2'' to share more in depth about this. Many of you know that I recently wrote ''My Upcoming Women's Training Part 1'' and if you haven't read it I'd encourage you to read it! Some of you ladies may be asking. ''Why on earth would I want to do a women's training?'' There are several reasons. Number one it's important to be trained in God's Word. In fact the Bible says in 2 Timothy 2;15 says. ''Study to shew thyself approved. A workman needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the Word of truth''. As many of you ladies know, that was written by the Apostle Paul under the power of the Holy Spirit. We know how it's important to train to be a doctor, lawyer, school teacher, engineer just to name some occupations but how much more valuable is spiritual training? The other reason is because of my desire to raise another generation of female leaders! Ladies can I be real about something? I've been around some churches or organizations where the leader is only concerned about themselves and not seeking to train another generation of leaders! How sad is that! But not me! I want to have women leaders raised up here which is the second reason for this training! Another reason is because there's not alot of ''women only seminary training'' out there! I know, right? Ladies I've done some research and prayed a whole bunch and I haven't found many women only training in person or online with the exception of ''Lifeway Women's Academy''! I know, right? When did ''Lifeway Women's Academy'' start? Well it started in 2022 and it's an online training for women to be in ministry! Unlike ''Women's Warriors Academy'' that has virtual Bible study and virtual prayer meetings, ''Lifeway Women's Academy'' is under the umbrella of training women for leadership! Ladies, am I ''antimen''? No I'm not! But this is made by a woman and for women though men are welcome to be guests! Another point I want to make about this is I want to make education affordable. Now ladies I'm sure you're well aware there are many trainings or colleges out there but many of them are expensive or far away. Let me give you ladies some examples. Have any of you ladies heard of Christian colleges such as ''Bethel College'', ''Evangel University'', ''North Central Bible College'', ''Trinity Bible College'', ''Canon University'', ''Pensacola Christian College'', ''Northwest College'', ''Belmont University'', just to name several? What do those Christian colleges have in common? There are Christian colleges that are in different states and they are expensive! Let's just call it for what it is! Am I trying to put these Christian colleges down? No I'm not! I admire these Christian colleges because many Christians especially ministers I know, have gone and graduated from those Christian colleges but I know for many of you ladies going to those Christian colleges would be expensive and too far away! If you're looking for economical training, you won't find many offers like this and I'd encourage y'all to take advantage of that. Another reason why I created my training the way I have is to make it available for Christian women from diverse ages. Now why is that important? Remember those Christian colleges that I just mentioned? Alot of them only cater to high school graduates heading for college. Is there anything wrong with that? No! But I want you precious ladies to know that while these classes are available to high school graduates who are Christian young women, it's also available to Christian women who are in their twenties and older! Many of you ladies know that I graduated from ''MATC'' (Milwaukee Area Technical College'') last year but I want you ladies to know that the graduates from that college are various ages, not just in their early twenties! Some of you reading this may think. ''Well I'm in my thirties and older. There's no way I can go back to college or go back to training!'' Well not so with this training! That's another reason to get involved with that. Another reason to sign up for this training or college is because it offers getting an adult high school diploma. Now I know many of you ladies already have your high school diploma but I'm well aware that not every lady was blessed enough to have that. Ladies to be honest not many Bible colleges offer that for many women and this one offers that! I don't know how long I'll have this offer available but let me encourage you ladies if you know a lady who dropped out of high school seeking to gain credits to get into the associates degree program. If you check out the ''Women's Warriors Bible College'' tab you ladies will see what books you will need for the adult high school diploma and to get one's associates degree. Another thing I want to share with you ladies is the purpose of this training or Bible college is to either train ladies to be on staff at ''Womens Warriors Academy'' but also to be women's pastors at regular churches. The purpose of the training isn't just for academics but it's for the intention to be sent out! We need ministers in the harvest! Jesus said in Luke 10;2 says. ''Behold the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest field''. I want more women's ambassadors for both this women's ministry and beyond! God wants ambassadors as well too. Another thing I want to say is these courses start after Labor Day this year! When is Labor Day? Labor Day is September 7th which is coming up! The adult high school diploma will happen September 8th on a Tuesday and the associates degree program will start September 9th on a Wednesday! Another thing I want to share with you ladies is that ChatGBT is the one that helped me make the beautiful flyer that you see for the cover of it! I hope you ladies think it's pretty and Chat GBT did a great job making it look professional! I couldn't be happier. If this is something that you or another Christian lady have been wanting to do or something you've been praying about for quite some time don't hesitate to reach out to me or go on the ''Women's Warriors bible College'' tab on the website to sign up and see what materials you will need for this! I only have one student so far but I'm praying and believing for the Lord for increase this training! Also I'll be hosting my virtual Bible study later tonight and hope that y'all join me for that. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and pray that you ladies consider signing up for my upcoming women's training for the fall!
Team meeting around a conference table with a presenter speaking in a bright office
By Sommer Kelly August 7, 2026
Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. The title I have for this blog is called ''My Upcoming Women's Training Part 1''. You ladies might be wondering. ''Why would I launch another women's training?'' Let me say this. As many of you know God has enabled me to lead ''Women's Warriors Academy'' for the past five years by His grace! As for right now I'm the only leader on here and the only one on staff so far! I don't say that to brag but that's how it is for right now. But God has been urging me to ''make room'' for others who may want to be on staff in the future and He's given me strategies to do that! If any of you are praying about being on staff in a ''nontraditional church setting'' I have some good news for you! You can be a part of the ''Women's Warriors Academy'' staff! However there are conditions that come with that. If you want to come on staff for my virtual women's program ''Womens Warriors Academy'' you have to go through my training! It's somewhat like going to college and thus far I only have one student that I've been training since after Labor Day September 2025 for the past eleven months! It's been some grueling but beautiful process and I pray that she'll be prepared for Labor Day next month. I've been asking the Lord to give me more women to train for my virtual women's program after Labor Day! (Side note I shared a video on youtube on social media called ''My Upcoming Women's Training For The Fall'' I shared something that I hope that you ladies consider checking out on facebook and on youtube!) I have two courses that I'm offering and one of them is an adult high school diploma and the other one is an associates degree. What's the purpose of the adult high school diploma? The purpose of the adult high school diploma is for Christian women who dropped out of high school and don't have a GED who need extra schooling! What books are you gonna need in order to take this course? ''Bible Doctrines'' by Stnaley Morton and ''Science And Health'' by Mary Baker Eddy which will be needed for the fall semester and ''The Book Of Romans'' by John R W Strott will be for the Spring semester as well as a Math course! That's what will be needed for those getting their adult high school diploma who wants to train with me this fall through Spring semester! For those who already have their high school diploma, GED, or adult high school diploma, you'll be able to get into my associates degree program with the ''People Of The Spirit'' by Gary B Mcgee where it encourages the Christian to dive deeper in the Holy Ghost, learn about leaders with ministries that had the Holy Ghost, as well as empowering leaders called into ministry to rely on the Holy Ghost. I am especially looking forward to teaching that course and I'm praying that God will send me the right women willing to sign up for the ''People of The Spirit'' course! Not only for that course but also to sign up for my adult high school diploma course and the stuff needed for that too! If you or another Christian lady that is looking to take courses like this, (It's also affordable compared to many other trainings) I'd encourage you to go on my website to go on my ''Women's Warriors Bible College'' tab to sign up and check that out! These courses will take place outside of virtual Bible study and outside of my virtual prayer meeting and will take place either on Zoom or other virtual means on certain days. (Again you'll have to check out the ''Women's Warriors Bible College'' tab to check out what days these courses meet and additional requirements as well too.) The Scripture says in Luke 10;2 ''Behold the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few'' and I'm praying that the Lord sends laborers of godly women willing to work hard to prepare for ministry especially here! (Side note: I offered this same offer last year but only one signed up for it! One is better than nothing but I'm praying to the Lord for more women to sign up for it this year!) Understand, it's a two semester commitment, I'm expecting hard work, women willing to learn, women hungry for the things of God, and women who feel called to ministry. If this is of any interest, please feel free to reach out to me and perhaps we can book a call and talk more about this! Plus God has given me a vision to have two campuses for ''Women's Warriors Academy'' to have in person campus and virtual campus (One that we currently have) but we need laborers for that to happen! So that's something to consider thinking about and praying about and that's what I wanted to share with you ladies! Blessings to each of you ladies, have a blessed week, and feel free to reach out to me if you have interest in being part of these courses after Labor Day!

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called ''My Time On Vacation''. The truth is I don't take many vacations that much so this one is special. Let me say this. First of all, before my parents got to go to work, they dropped me off early at the Milwaukee Intermodal Station and from there I got on Greyhound for the second time! I wasn't very happy to have to take Greyhound again but I figured it was cheaper than to fly an airplane. (I did fly in April of this year but there's details I chose not to reveal at this time about that.) There were some challenges I dealt with such as losing one of my belongings, one of my bus transfers was late and I had to pray with an intercessor for the bus transfer to show up! I know, right? After ten or fifteen minutes of praying and waiting, another bus showed up to make that two buses! I was able to get on the last bus to head to Detroit and eventually I got off the bus and had to head to the Detroit bus station! I ubered from that to get to the conference and thankfully the uber driver was on time and not late! Why is that important? The reason is because last year, my bus transfers came on time but the uber driver was close to an hour late! I know, right? Anyhow I made it to the service but I didn't have time to change clothes much less to head to the hotel! I also needed to get my guitar replaced which was a crazy story about that. I later met my roommates at the conference because my parents refused to go with me. The conference I was at was from July 30th through August 2nd Thursday through Sunday night and it was a refreshing time in the presence of the Lord. I took a trailer bus and luggage to my hotel. I had to wait for close to an hour or more until they got there. I later finally got into the room and eventually went into the room. I later slept in and a voice in a dream not knowing it was the Father, Son, and the Spirit but it was about me getting instructions how to resolve some issues with my roommates who I won't reveal names. After lunch I was able to talk to them and God was good. He helped clear up the issue! At the conference I got to witness people getting saved and getting physically healed! I also witnessed a woman getting healed of mental illness! Things progressed some more and on Saturday I was at the morning rally and I got a message on my phone that my guitar was on the way to the Laquinta hotel! Eventually when the meeting was over, I ran and walked back to the hotel where I noticed a package behind the desk and I said it was for me! She checked to see my room number and realized it was meant for me! I later got to record a video on August 1st while my roommates weren't back yet! (I later posted the video on youtube and later facebook!) I got to go to church Sunday morning and got to be a part of my godfathers birthday celebration too! My godfather's birthday party was like a ''gospel night'' where there was wonderful gospel music playing (yes that's right my godfather is a Christian) which made me and some people dance and enjoy the presence of the Lord. Plus there was great food and I enjoyed the cake as well! I also got to meet my godfather's lawyers who are Christians and they were really nice too. God was gracious. I didn't spend much on food because I packed some of my food, my roommates shared some, and I took some food from the hotel for breakfast. I didn't want to go back to my room as well. I got to see precious friends that I don't get to see in person all that much and it was nice to see them.My godfather is one of the best men in the entire world and I love him so much! Despite what he's been going through (especially legal troubles) he remains godly, humble, bold, and caring as well. If y'all can keep my godfather in prayer about his legal troubles it would be helpful and there are various details I'm not permitted to talk about until a much later time. (I do believe that God is going to come through in this legal situation and turn what the devil meant for evil and turn it around for good. I also know his legal team believes in God and they pray together despite the challenges they have to deal with. But certain details I won't say until a much later time.) I got to take a shuttle bus for free which was nice and one of the shuttle bus drivers offered to give me a ride Monday August 3rd to head to the Detroit bus station which was great and I gotta make it there early! The bus transfer was smoother this time and I got to make a new friend on the bus who I later found out was at the same conference I was at but didn't see her! (Side note I did tell my roommates I had to leave early for the bus and I let them know I made it home safely and my loved ones out of town I let them know I made it home safely too.) My dad picked me up at the airport because my bus dropped me off there and eventually I got to head home, eat dinner and join another conference call! I know, right? (I got back in town around 6;15 or 6;20 P.M. on Monday night August 3rd.) It was a bit of a crazy ride but I'm happy my friends cheered me on about my adventure which meant so much to me. Those that prayed for me about this that means so much to me! I probably won't go on another vacation until after Christmas close to New Years time! I pray that I'll be able to carpool this time instead of taking Greyhound, that is if folks are willing to go with me! That's the reason why we didn't do virtual Bible August 2nd because I was out of town and I needed some time off! Yet I shared a blog about ''The Importance Of Sabbath Rest'' something that I felt I needed during that time! So that's the ''quick version'' of my four days on my vacation. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Now I'm back I'm doing my virtual Bible study tonight which I can't wait to share what the Lord has laid on my heart to share with y'all. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week everyone.
Praying hands over a blue Wisconsin state silhouette with the word “WISCONSIN” centered behind them
By Sommer Kelly July 29, 2026
Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm kind of switching gears a bit here and going to share something different but important. The title I have for the blog is called "Pray For Wisconsin". As many of you ladies know that I'm born and raised in Wisconsin as many of you are as well. For those of you who may or may not remember last week Monday on July 27th, severe rain and severe storms plagued Wisconsin. Prior to that occurring, I believe our state has had record breaking heat causing it to be a hot summer! Not only that, due to the Canada fire, the fire spread across the Northern states especially to our state! The smoke odor filled the air causing it to feel unbearable but by the grace of God I was okay. Anyway my mom and my grandma always say whenever the weather is sticky it's eventually gonna rain. Also have you ladies ever heard the saying. "When it rains it pours?" Well that's exactly what happened last week Monday on July 27th and it rained for most of the day until 5 PM when the sun came out! Early in the morning when I was praying and reading the Bible, I couldn't believe how dark it was outside! In fact my brother took a picture on his phone and showed how dark it was where he lives! (Side note: I'm the only one who lives with my parents because my other siblings moved out. I trust the Lord's timing when it will be time for me to move out.) It was raining hard both in the Northern part of Wisconsin and Southeastern Wisconsin! (Southeastern Wisconsin is where Milwaukee, my hometown, is located.) In fact in the Northern part of Wisconsin (Appelton to be exact) there was a tornado that occurred and it did some damage to precious people's properties. It only left one person dead but at least 19 people were injured. The news reporters were also saying that this is one of the worst tornadoes in Wisconsin since 1984 if y'all can believe that! (Those precious people had to do massive cleanups the next day on Tuesday July 28th which was last week.) Not only that, quite a few places (like stores, libraries, and some people's houses) suffered power outages! I got to say by the grace of God, our power stayed on the entire time! Of course as many of y'all know this isn't the first or last time severe rain has occurred in Wisconsin. As a matter of fact four months ago in April of this year just a week after Easter Sunday, Wisconsin was hit with severe flooding causing there to be water in our basement twice! (I hosted my virtual prayer meeting in the basement on day one of the flood in April of this year!) People also lost some items due to that flood and the Northern part of Wisconsin got hit with a tornado! (Side note: on the third day it flooded we were in an indoor concert with Christian rapper KB at "Discover Church" my parents church!) But by God's grace there was no flooding in our basement that time. I additionally remember a year ago a week after I got back from being out of town, there was severe flooding to the point we lost electricity and it didn't come back on until Sunday night 10:30 PM a couple hours after my virtual Bible study! In both incidents, mom cleared out the water in the basement both last year and in April of this year and dad likely had to help her! I remember sixteen years ago as a teenager me, my siblings, and mom were home during the summer (I don't know if dad worked a later shift or was out of town) we ate dinner and it started raining. Mom told us to go to the basement and there was severe flooding. But we were there to help get water out of the basement! Simply put we've had some severe flooding in Wisconsin but I got to say this last incident it's a miracle water wasn't in our basement! But I'm sure there are others that weren't so fortunate. I'm asking for us to pray for our precious state of Wisconsin. Pray for those who were affected by the tornado and pray that they're able to recover all what was lost from them. Pray that God will send people their way to give them food, water, shelter or anything else they may need after this. Additionally may we pray for those who were affected by the flooding and most of all pray in midst of this this will cause people to turn to Christ and not get bitter at Him. Let's also pray that the next time it rains it doesn't rain too severely! I don't know about y'all but having severe rain can be traumatic for people. In fact I had a slight panic attack about that last year after the flood in August! The state of Wisconsin has gone through alot in recent years and of course the joke we have is you can experience four seasons in a week! That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. I'm sure many of you live in multiple different cities in the state of Wisconsin and I'm sure that some of y'all were impacted by the storm. Thank goodness the Lord brought us through. Blessings, have a great week everyone, and let's continue to pray for our state not only to recover after the storm but also pray that a massive revival breaks out in our state too!
Praying hands in front of a stone church with a steeple and stained-glass windows
By Sommer Kelly July 28, 2026
Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "The Importance Of Sabbath Rest". This is based from the fourth commandment from the ten commandments when God told the Jews to make the Sabbath day Holy. Holy means set apart for the sacred. If course we know as Christians when we got saved, we were called out of darkness to God's glorious light. When we get baptized in the Holy Spirit evidence of speaking in tongues, (that experience is separate from the salvation experience) that gives us grace to walk in the fruit of the Spirit (see Galatians 3:22,23) and to be holy. We Christians are called to both walk in love and walk in holiness. We are called to be set apart from the world and into living for God as a daily lifestyle. I'm sure many of you ladies already know that but what does that have anything to do with the Sabbath day? Do you ladies remember the story of creation mentioned in Genesis 1 and 2? God created the world for six days such as sun, moon, stars, planets, galaxies, plants, water, animals etc and called everything good. When God created Adam and Eve, He made them and us in His image and called what He made very good! Of course we know that Adam and Eve (as well as the rest of us) were created for relationship with God but it got broken because of sin. (Thankfully God sent His Son Jesus to die on the cross to restore that relationship.) But going back to the creation story, God made the world in six days but rested on the Sabbath day seven! Now we know the number seven is significant because that number represents completion! (You can do your own study where the number seven appears in certain places of the Bible.) Did God rest because He was tired? No!!!!!!!! He rested to set an example for us! Remember when I mentioned the importance of holiness and what it means? Holy means to set apart for the sacred and I already mentioned that we Christians are called to walk in love and holiness. But just as we're called to walk in love and live holy, the Sabbath is supposed to be a holy day. That means we are to set a day aside not only to rest from our work labor but also for us to have a day set aside for the Lord! Now again is everyday a gift from God? Yes. Each day we're giving is a blessing from the Lord! Some of you who grew in church maybe used to hear the old saints say. "Thank God He woke you up this morning" or heard "What a blessing it is to be in the land of the living". Those are very true sayings and something to be thankful for. Also should we carve out time each day to spend quality time with God in prayer and His Word everyday not just in Sundays? Absolutely! Should we live for God everyday? Absolutely! But again we must make it a priority to prioritize the Sabbath to set a day aside for the Lord and physical rest. You might be thinking. "Why are you addressing this in a blog? The reason is because as you ladies know we live in a busy busy world. We know that our days are filled with work, bills, taking care of our families, running errands, additional relationships and so many things can fill up our days to the point we burnout! I'm sure you ladies know the challenges of dealing with burnout as well as I! We know if we don't set healthy boundaries how to structure our time, our day to day life can get the best of us. Ladies I believe that God knew that before time which is why He set the commandment to keep the Sabbath day holy. Not only that Hebrews 10:25 says. "Let us not stop the forsaking the assembly of meeting together as some are in the habit of doing but encouraging one another all the more as you see the Day approaching". What is this Scripture saying ladies? It's very obvious not for us Christians to stop meeting together at church! That has something to do with the Sabbath day! Also it says we should do it all the more as we see the Day approaching. Why did they capitalize Day? Day here isn't just any day but Day here represents the return of Christ! Going to church and being with other Christians is one of many ways to help prepare us for the return of Jesus in the rapture! (In another blog for another time I'll share more about the rapture!) Isn't that something? God wants us to make His house a priority to have time for Him, fellow Christians, and not think about the burdens of work! Ladies another thing I want to share is it used to be back in the "old days" that not many places were open on Sundays! The only places that used to be open were the police station or hospitals were the only places open on Sundays. Places like gas stations, restaurants, and most jobs back then were closed on Sundays! Isn't that wild? We know today sadly many places are open seven days a week and competes for our attention especially being in God's house. Another thing I want to share about is the Sabbath day is to be a time of rest. I think about when Jesus visited Mary and Martha of Bethany's house mentioned in Luke 10:38-42 where Martha was busy serving while Mary sat at the Lord's feet to listen to Him! You ladies know the story that Martha got upset and begged our Lord to have her sister Mary to come help her! Now was Martha doing in of itself wrong? No. She was caught up serving that she forgot to sit at the Lord's feet. How many of us Christians can admit we've been guilty of doing what Martha did? Is serving a bad thing? No. Is working a bad thing? No. But everything must be in its proper place and Martha has misplaced priorities. We Christians can do that too but I believe that's another reason why God made the Sabbath day for us His people to have time to be at His feet. Again should we spend quality time in prayer with Him everyday not just Sundays? Of course! But again we must prioritize the Sabbath day and protect it. That's another point I want to my. Ladies there has been attacks against churches in America and I believe it's essential for us to pray more than ever for each other, our pastors, and churches. As some of you ladies may remember, during COVID many churches couldn't meet in person and only could have ten people at the most there! (Side note during COVID I transitioned from "Discover Church" a mega church to a smaller church called "New Life Assembly Of God Church" and I was still able to go to church then and now by God's grace! I'm a member there now and "Discover Church" when COVID died down, resumed to regular services.) I believe that was an attack on churches meeting and I don't know if you ladies are aware, there are pastors who have been going through legal battles, others raided by corrupt officials, and others unjustly jailed in our own country! I believe that's an attack on churches and our religious freedoms and I believe it's time for us to take a stand! It's time for us to stand on our religious freedoms, stand for and pray for our pastors, and fight for the Sabbath day! That's important especially these days. As for me I'm on vacation right now but even on vacation, I'm still going to church! I may not be at my home church but I'm attending another church far away from home until I return back home! This church will do an evening service which is why there's no virtual Bible study tonight.(But I'll be back the following Sunday night August 9th to resume virtual Bible study!) I'm on vacation for me to reset! So I would encourage you ladies to pause and reflect. How well are you prioritizing the Sabbath day? How well are you taking care of your physical, emotional, and mental health? Are you praying and standing up for religious freedom? Are you resting in the Lord? These are things I've had to ask myself lately and I know the Lord is helping me with balance! I'm sure some of you ladies need to ask the Lord for help in those areas as well too. Prioritizing the Lord daily is important, prioritizing our mental, physical, and emotional health is important, and prioritizing the Sabbath is important. It's easy to allow other things especially our day to day responsibilities (not that in themselves are wrong) to crowd out our God time is why we need to guard it! We also need to pray for our pastors for God to help them especially those dealing with legal battles and being jailed, pray for protection for God's house, and us to continue to be a country that honors God's house and His Word! That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to each of you ladies, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week. P.S. I will be coming back home soon too as well!

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "David And Jonathan's Friendship". For those of you who have been with me during my virtual Bible study, especially this month on July Sunday nights, I've been talking about friendship. The first Sunday I talked about Paul and Silas from Acts 16, the third Sunday we talked about Amnon King David's mentioned in 2 Samuel 13 son having a bad friend with his cousin Jonadab that led him to sadly rape his "lover/half sister Tamar!" How wicked is that? That also shows that the wrong friends can influence one to do some very evil stuff which is why it's so important to choose your friends wisely! (I'm sure many of us have heard the old saying. ''Show me your friends and show me your future'' and ''You are who you run with.'') This past Sunday we talked about Jesus hanging out with His friends in John 11 (I wrote a blog about it too) Mary and Martha of Bethany and how He comforted them in the midst of their pain and how He comforts us in our pain. But on the second Sunday of August, we talked about this very subject. David and Jonathan's friendship is mentioned in 1 Samuel chapters 18-20. This took place after David killed Goliath mentioned in 1 Samuel 17 a story most Christians know about. But we don't talk about what happened afterwards. David used the sword to cut off Goliath's the Philistines head! Jonathan was King Saul's oldest son who was Israel's crown prince. He was interested in David and loved him dearly in a "nonsexual way". He even gave him one of his swords and one of his royal robes! Isn't that sweet? That shows how truly unselfish Jonathan was and that stresses how important it is to have friends that are unselfish. Prince Jonathan did that because he knew that his friend had a calling on his life and encouraged him in that. Ladies, how many friends are like that in your life? Either your friends are leading you to Christ or away and either they're trying to push you to go to your destiny or distract you from it! Only you can make that decision! Prince Jonathan could have been jealous of David like his dad was and even could have sided with his dad against David! He had the right to do so not only because of him being a son but also being a prince. Did you ladies not know that not only was David attacked by King Saul and had to flee, did y'all not know that Prince Jonathan had ''to lie'' to his dad just for David to get away? Not only that, did y'all not know that David married Michal King Saul's oldest daughter (It's likely that her and her brother Prince Jonathan were probably close in age) who also lied to King Saul but that was the intention to protect David from being killed? I'm not saying that Prince Jonathan and Princess Michal lying was right but they did it to protect from being killed by King Saul! Isn't that sad that King Saul's oldest adult children lie just to protect someone they cared about from being killed by him? That brings me to another point, a true friend is loyal, a true friend defends, and protects their friends from harmful situations. The Bible even mentions that when Prince Jonathan defended David against King Saul, King Saul got angry with him and dared to curse the day he was born! How wicked is that? But Prince Jonathan didn't care. He did not want David to be harmed no matter what and was determined to be his friend despite King Saul hating him! How many of you ladies have friends like that? How many of you ladies have friends that are willing to stand up for you when someone is slandering your name, gossiping about you, or folks accusing you? How many of y'all would risk making your parents angry or your boss for wrongly accusing your friends? I'm sure if most of us are honest not many people would do that. Listen ladies, the right friend will not only encourage you to live godly but also will encourage you in your destiny, defend you, and love you unconditionally. The Bible says in the book of Proverbs 17;17 says ''A friend loves at all times and a brother is born for adversity''. Ladies I'm sure y'all have heard the old saying. ''You'll know your real friends when hell breaks loose'' is a very true saying. Anybody can be your friend on a good day but who knows how to be a friend when things go wrong? Who will be your friend when you get sick, go through marriage issues, face divorce, your kids acting funny, you lose a job, go through legal issues just to name some challenges? Y'all know that all of us will face storms at some point but who in your corner is strong enough to go through those things with you? Prince Jonathan is such a beautiful example of that and I pray that we have friends like that! Not only do we need to pray to have friends like that but we need to pray that we'll be friends like that for others too! After all, wasn't God there for us on our best day and worst day? Of course He is! But what really blows me away is how many people in the body of Christ know how to be true friends? May God help us in that area! That's the reason why I wrote this blog. We need kingdom minded friends, folks full of the Holy Ghost, loyal friends, and friends who are ''spiritual warriors''. That's what I wanted to share with you ladies. Blessings to each of you ladies, happy Tuesday, and pray that we friends like Prince Jonathan and be a better friend to the Lord too.

Hi ladies it's me again and happy Lord's day! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "Jesus Raises Impossible Dead Things". The story we're gonna use is the story of Lazarus. Of course many of you know that story which comes from John 11. This wasn't the first or last time Jesus visited them and some of y'all remember the Scripture Luke 10:38-42. (Jesus visited their home with Mary of Bethany sitting at His feet while Martha was busy serving. I wrote a blog about that and there is a lesson of us prioritizing relationship while not forgetting to neglect our intimate time with the Lord.) Another important thing to understand was that Lazarus and his sisters Mary and Martha were close friends to Jesus as well as His male disciples, and women of Galilee. But Lazarus was sick to the point of being bedridden. In our modern day he would have been at home hospice care with his sisters Mary and Martha of Bethany as his caregivers! I'm sure some of you ladies can relate to caregiving for older siblings or parents and know how challenging that is. They begged for Jesus to show up but as we know He didn't show up right away. It could be because He was busy, in another city, or Father God in prayer told Him to stay back. But after awhile, Christ and His male disciples traveled from another city to Bertha and by that point Lazarus had died. As you ladies can imagine Mary and Martha of Bethany were weeping along with family members and neighbors too. They both asked Jesus where was He and perhaps could have stopped Lazarus from dying! Isn't that something? Christ certainly could have shown up sooner and ladies how many of us in our minds or hearts wondered the same thing especially in our prayers? I know I certainly have and there have been prayers I've prayed over the past several years while others for over twenty years and answers still haven't come yet. Maybe you ladies can relate to this as well too. Maybe you've prayed the same prayer or prayers for yourself and loved ones and wonder why the answer hasn't happened yet. Do y'all remember the blog I wrote last Sunday that talked about getting frustrated? Don't you ladies think that in addition to Mary and Martha of Bethany being sad that they possibly got frustrated? I know I would have and I'm sure you ladies would have too. But Des that, Christ comforted Mary and Martha and reassured them He's the Resurrection and the Life! That's comforting for us especially today when our saved loved ones die physically we know that they've gone home to heaven. That doesn't mean that grief is easy but having that promise of Christ is what gets us Christians through. Christ wept and comforted them then He commanded the stone to be removed! Remember Lazarus was in the grave for four days and Mary and Martha by then had given up on hope. Then Jesus prayed to the Father and commanded Lazarus to come out and he did! Lazarus isn't the first or last person that Christ raised from the dead. We know that He rose Jairus's twelve year old daughter and raised a widows son from Nain from the dead. What makes those cases interesting was that they died but within minutes or hours, Christ rose them from the dead! But Lazarus was in the grave longer than those people and was in a impossible situation but Jesus raised him up for all to see! I can only imagine how happy Mary and Martha of Bethany were and how thrilled the crowd was to see Lazarus be raised back to life! Ladies what impossible situation are you going through right now that you need Jesus to intervene in? Do you have a loved one addicted to drugs or alcohol who needs to get delivered? Do you have loved ones that are unsaved whose hearts appear to get harder towards God? Did the doctor give you or a loved one bad news diagnosis and there seems to be no hope? Are you in a financial crisis despite you giving to God's house and you're praying for finances to be stable? Have you been applying for different jobs or been at job interviews and you keep getting rejected over and over again? Do you know a married couple that's had infertility struggles and the doctors aren't giving them hope to have children? Are you or a loved one going through legal troubles and it seems as though that battle will be end or be resolved? Ladies no matter what the situation is, Jesus is able to turn the situation around! It may not happen in the time that we want but He's able to raise anything or anyone dead back to life! If Christ can raise what's "spiritually dead" back to life, how much more can He raise what's physically dead, relationally dead, or even dead dreams back to life? I really wanted to share this with you ladies that Jesus is our hope. Another thing I want to share is because we're in Christ, we Christians have hope for "a eternal bodily resurrection" that will happen at the rapture something I know we're all looking forward to! (That's for another blog for another time.) I have shared this to give y'all as well as myself that Jesus is our Resurrection! He rose from the dead on the third day which is the ultimate resurrection after being crucified on the cross three days earlier for our sins. He didn't stay dead He rose again! I'll be sharing this story at Bible study tonight at 7 PM and hope as many of y'all come to that. That's what I wanted to share with y'all. Blessings, happy Lord's day, and have a blessed week everyone.
Gold hourglass in front of a vintage clock, with the phrase “Timing Is Everything” across the face
By Sommer Kelly July 17, 2026
Hi ladies it's me again and happy Tuesday! I hope and pray that each of you ladies and your families are doing well. I'm happy to present another blog called "Trusting God's Timing When You're Waiting". I'm sure all of us know that waiting is fun isn't it? Actually know it's not! Who likes to wait in line, get stuck in traffic, wait on a doctor's appointment, or wait to hear back from an employer to see if you got the job just to name a couple of examples. But most of all as Christians, how many of us know that waiting on God can be a challenge? Ladies in my 21 years of walking with the Lord despite me being in my early thirties I understand how challenging that can be. I definitely understand how a Christian can earnestly pray to the Lord about many things such as a loved one to get saved or come back to Christ, someone to be healed, a single person to get married, a childless married couple to have kids, or a loved one incarcerated (especially unjustly) to be released and the answers to those prayers seem delayed. How many of you ladies have felt frustrated with God when that happened? Ladies it's okay to be honest with God and I'm not afraid to admit I've been frustrated with God too. Afterall that's what that previous blog is about dealing with being frustrated with God. Ladies I want you to know that people in the Bible had to learn how to wait on God for various things and I'm sure many of you know the examples of that I'll share. One obvious example is the life of Joseph in the Old Testament. When he was seventeen years old God gave him a dream at night that he'd be a great leader and his loved ones would bow to him! Just imagine sharing that dream with your siblings and parents and see how they'll respond to that! As we know that his evil brothers (with the exception of Benjamin the youngest brother) hated him and plotted to kill him! Let's not forget that his dad Jacob (or Israel) favored Joseph above the other brothers and gave him the coat of many colors which caused jealousy to escalate in the house too. As we know that Joseph's older brothers (not Benjamin) grabbed him, threw him in a pit, and sold him as a slave! Let's not forget how Joseph's earthly father felt believing that his son was dead finding his coat dipped into blood! As Jacob (or Israel) was grieving, Joseph worked as a slave in Potiphar's house for a time where he learned to deepen his walk with the Lord and be a hard worker. We know that God blessed Potiphar's house because of Joseph but sadly, Potiphar's wife tried to tempt Joseph to sin sexually but he refused. Despite him standing for righteousness, he got wrongly incarcerated and I shared about that last month about it! He not only lived in prison, he likely worked as a jail administrator and he met the cupbearer and the baker and interpreted their dreams. The cupbearer forgot Joseph when he got restored to Pharaoh while the baker later died. Imagine being in the position of being forgotten by someone who should have remembered you while you're forced to live and work in prison! But God gave Pharaoh a dream about prosperity and famine hitting Egypt for seven years and we know that the number seven means completion. Joseph later got "laid off" from his jail administrator position and got sent to the palace to interpret Pharaoh's dream! Joseph became prime minister in Egypt, married his wife Asneth, had two sons Manasseh and Ephraim, and saved money and grain during the "seven prosperity years" to prepare for the famine. Later famine hit in Egypt and all over the world which forced Joseph's brothers to come to Egypt, buy food, and bow to Joseph! Isn't it something that the very ones who hated Joseph would be the ones begging for his help later? If course Joseph revealed himself to his brothers, forgave them, reconciled with his old father Jacob, and took care of them, their households, his immediate households, and Egypt during the entire famine! Another example that I think of is the life of King David. He was the youngest of eight sons in his family, was a shepherd boy, and wasn't esteemed by his family all that much. But later the prophet Samuel came to Jesse's house (David's earthly father) and he brought his seven sons except for David! Isn't that something that Jesse didn't even consider his youngest son? The Lord revealed to Samuel that neither David's elder brothers were chosen to be king so Jesse had to hurry David in the house and Samuel anointed David to be the future second king of Israel! As we know wicked Goliath the Philistine giant tormented King Saul and his army and that upset David who decided to go down to fight Goliath! We know the story David took five stones and a slingshot which hit Goliath on the forehead and he fell and died! (Side note I believe that Goliath was probably connected to the Nephiliam because of his height something I've been sharing with Christians over the past few years.) Now you'd think that David's life would be a "walk in the park" well sadly things drastically changed. King Saul got jealous of David and tried to kill him multiple times. It got so bad that Jonathan the crown prince (King Saul's oldest son) and Princess Michal (King Saul's oldest daughter) and David's first wife had to lie to King Saul and help him get away from him! Whew! This went on for years until one day King Saul, Prince Jonathan, and other Jewish soldiers were in the battlefield and a massive massacre happened. Prince Jonathan and many Jewish soldiers brutally died while King Saul got wounded and committed suicide! David had to wait many years to be king but after wicked King Saul died, David at thirty became king of Judah and seven years later, became king of Israel! Not only that, King David was a warrior, a Psalmist, and a harp player and I know many of us have enjoyed the book Psalm! (My dad used to read the Psalm to me and my siblings growing up especially Psalm 1, 23, 34, 63, 91, and Psalm 100.) Even as king, King David encountered ups and downs such as his sin with Bathsheba, (he repented and wrote Psalm 51) counting the people, wicked kings fighting him, and even his own son Absalom tried to take the throne by force until his hair got caught in the tree and got killed! But throughout King David's life the Lord was with him and I want you ladies to know that the Lord is with you too. Joseph in the Old Testament and King David endured a lot and they often had to wait on God which wasn't easy but God gave them grace during that time. Ladies I don't know what you're waiting on and we must always remember to trust God's timing which I know is easier said than done. That's not easy for me either but looking at a couple of these biblical examples helps shape my perspective and I pray does the same for you ladies to remember that God orchestrates everything. Does it make the waiting easy? No!!!!!!! But it reminds us that God's in control. I pray that this blog encouraged you ladies, blessings, and have a blessed week everyone.
